As the world’s second largest and second most populated continent, Africa is a diversified region. The continent is subdivided into 5 regions including Eastern Africa: Middle Africa, Northern Africa, Southern Africa, and Western Africa. This divisional and culture divide has earned Africa the nickname of “Continent of a Thousand Languages” as there are an estimated 2,000 languages spoke there. Much of Africa encounters desert like conditions which provides the perfect setting for safaris and excursions. All of the African states except Morocco are part of the African Union (AU) federation. From an economic standpoint, the result of corrupt governments and societies has made Africa the world’s poorest continent. This corruption is evident in parts of Africa that are rich in natural resources including gold and diamonds.
