Downtown Phoenix is a bustling center of government and commerce, but there are also many opportunities for renters. Neighborhoods like Coronado and North Encanto offer residential living space for those who want to be near all the action. Residents of this neighborhood enjoy easy access to shopping, fine dining, cultural events, and sporting events.

The East Side neighborhood is ideal for renters looking for condos and lofts with luxury amenities. Due to its proximity to the Biltmore area, East Side attracts wealthy residents who want to enjoy world-class golf courses and fine dining. Arcadia, located at the foot of Camelback Mountain, is home to stately single-family homes. Due to Arcadia's proximity to Paradise Valley, property values are high. Camelback East is a mix of upscale, middle class, and low-income housing. Upscale homes are found in the northern part of the neighborhood, while inexpensive apartments and Section 8 housing units are found in the southern part of the neighborhood.

The Biltmore area is named for its proximity to the Arizona Biltmore Hotel. This is one of the most upscale neighborhoods in Phoenix. The center of the neighborhood is made up of exclusive homes, townhouses, and golf courses. The eastern part of the neighborhood, known as the Camelback Corridor, is home to commercial buildings and mid-rise condominiums. Biltmore Fashion Park is anchored by Ralph Lauren, Sak's Fifth Avenue, and Macy's. It also has more than a dozen eateries. This area is also home to Wrigley Mansion and a Ritz-Carlton hotel.

West Phoenix is a growing area that include Maryvale, Goodyear, Avondale, and other new communities expanding beyond the Phoenix city limits. This area is home to open-air apartment complexes, lofts, duplexes, and rooms for rent. Residents shop at the nearby Desert Sky Mall, which is anchored by Dillard's, Sears, and Burlington Coat Factory. The mall complex also has a cinema and several fast food and specialty food restaurants.

Northwest Phoenix consists of the Paradise Valley, Deer Valley, North Mountain, Happy Valley, and Desert View neighborhoods. This region is a shopper's paradise, with Paradise Valley Mall, Kierland Commons, and Desert Ridge Marketplace all within easy driving distance. This community is also home to several library branches, Reach 11 Recreation Area, an art center, several golf courses, and an interpretive history center. The Phoenix Mountains give residents plenty of opportunities for outdoor recreation.
