The second largest city in the nation, Los Angeles is a bustling metropolis that encompasses a massive area in Southern California. The City of Angels plays an important economic and cultural role, both in the state of California, and across the nation. From the bright lights of Hollywood to the gorgeous beaches dotting the coast line, Los Angeles' many attractions draw tourists from across the globe each year.

LA residents get to enjoy a temperate climate year round, and are exposed to some of the most incredible entertainment venues, sporting arenas, and cultural events on the planet. There are many reasons to move to Los Angeles, but all of these factors make the city a truly dynamic place to call home. Before moving to Los Angeles, however, it is important for would-be residents to plan effectively.

Firstly, renters in Los Angeles should narrow down the neighborhoods they would like to consider. Bronson Canyon is a popular spot with many renters, as the area is extremely walkable and the nearby canyon provides an excellent opportunity for recreational activity. The city streets are relatively quiet in Bronson Canyon, which is dotted with small bungalows and single family homes for rent.

The area around Vermont and Franklin is another exceptional neighborhood, exuding much of the charm of small town California. With small streets, local bookstores and coffee houses, and Griffith Park located nearby, this quiet neighborhood is a refreshing oasis from the hustle and bustle of other parts of Los Angeles. Plenty of homes, apartments, and lofts can be found for rent in this area.

Of course, some residents are only too happy to call the urban jungle home. Downtown L.A. has plenty of different options, with highrise apartments and condos being the most prolific. Within the downtown area, there are several smaller neighborhoods that have a unique feel. Little Tokyo is one such example, with its Buddhist temples and authentic restaurants.

Westwood is a popular area for renters with a sizable budget. Cheaper than neighboring Brentwood and Bel Air, the neighbor is still rather affluent and incredibly safe. This makes it a popular destination with families and young couples. Most of the rentals available in Westwood will be larger homes. Duplexes may also be available for rent occasionally.

Because Los Angeles has so many residents, it can be difficult to find pet-friendly rentals. In order to find one of these, renters may need to be willing to shell out an additional security deposit. Many times homes closer to the beach will be willing to accept pet-friendly owners, simply because the rentals rent for a bit more than residences further inland.

From the excitement of Tinsel Town to the scenic views found throughout the city, Los Angeles and the surrounding area is an exceptional part of the American landscape. Living in L.A. can be a true fantasy world, but it is important to research what area of this diverse city is the best fit. This will help ensure that renters are satisfied with their new home.
