Welcome to Philadelphia, nicknamed “the city of neighborhoods”. People are always scouring for quality apartment rentals and finding a place that will ideally suit their individual tastes should be no problem in this bustling metropolis.

“Philly”, as it is fondly called, has a population of over one and a half million people. Less than one hundred years after its founding by William Penn, Philadelphia grew to become the largest city in the 13 original colonies.

Philadelphia has an enviable location, just a hundred miles from New York City and 40 miles from Atlantic City, New Jersey. But Philadelphia doesn't have to play second fiddle to either place because it holds its own unique charm and old world flavor close to the center city. In this area of “Old Philadelphia” modern amenities will be hidden behind the façade of vintage architecture.

Center City Philadelphia is one of this city's trendier housing communities. Say Rittenhouse Square and everyone will marvel at your choice of select rental housing. As one of Philadelphia's most sought after addresses, it is known for its grand apartments, and 19th century townhouses. It offers the ideal location for city dwellers with a thirst for commercial activity intertwined with residential living.

Logan Square is also a part of the center city where you can become a tourist in your own rental community. Over 150 years old, this attraction-rich neighborhood has a special appeal for families with children. Want to travel without leaving your community? Enjoy easy access to the planetarium, the main branch of the Philadelphia Free Library and the Omniverse Theater.

The nation's fourth largest Chinatown is located right in Philadelphia. Its Asian markets are frequented by residents and tourists and many residents call it home. Renters in area have access to dozens of gift shops, Asian markets and restaurants, all within walking distance.
Fishtown, the former center for Shad fishing, has been transformed into a haven for eateries and nightlife. As with most of Philiadelphia, Fishtown is steeped in cultural tradition since the first settlers, Native Americans and Europeans, planted roots there. This close knit community is largely inhabited by Irish Catholics. In recent years Fishtown has undergone a conversion that has attracted artists and young professionals.

Philadelphia is not only for the affluent city renters. It offers housing to suit every budget and taste. Low income dwellers will also find nice rentals. Many landloards accept Section 8 in Philadelphia, the federal housing subsidy program.

In recent years parts of West Philadelphia have gone from obscurity to a gentrification process that puts it on the list of up and coming areas for young professionals. Most of the housing in West Philadelphia is made up of row houses dating to 1852. In later years a new development of row houses took form. Historical landmarks in the area include the Woodlands Cemetery and Satterlee Hospital.

Don't be afraid to venture slowly and take your time in the rental selection process. Know exactly what is included in your monthly rental fee and be sure you understand the terms of your rental agreement before signing.
