Lawrence Kansas is a college community that is quickly becoming a large commuter community for Kansas City. As its population increases, so does the construction of new housing, including condominiums. A little less expensive than Overland Park, most condos are in the $800-$1,200 range for monthly rental. A few condo rentals can be found in the $500-650 range.
As with the rest of the United States, Kansas was hit by the real estate downturn in 2007-08, though not as severely as many other areas of the country.
