FINDING A RENTAL PROPERTY IN VEGAS

LAS VEGAS: OVERVIEW
Renters on the hunt for a place to settle down might not realize it, but Las Vegas is a great place to add to their list of potential picks. Beyond the obvious draw of Vegas as a world-class tourism and gaming hub, there are plenty of other reasons to make one of Sin City's charming neighborhoods your home. Read on to find out just a few of them, and to discover a little bit about some of Las Vegas' best neighborhoods.

LAS VEGAS' VIBE:
Let's face it, Vegas is a party town. That doesn't mean there aren't enclaves of family-friendly or traditional living, though - there are. In fact, there are several. As with most large urban areas, you only have to travel a few miles outside the city center to find them. This is actually a boon, because you get the best of both worlds in a situation like this. The party is there when you want it (it never goes away), and when you need to recharge, or if you have a family to look after, peace and quiet are just a few minutes away.

VEGAS: THE TOP PLACES TO LIVE
Las Vegas has several great neighborhoods to choose from if you're looking to rent. Read on to learn more about a few of the best.

CACTUS SPRINGS:
First on the list of great Las Vegas rental areas is the decidedly hippie-esque town of Cactus Springs. Located on U.S. 95 in the middle of the Mojave, this little burg has a reputation for quiet serenity in the midst of glitzy chaos. Attractions and activities include the Nevada Test Site and the International Sacred Peace Walk.

LAKE LAS VEGAS:
This resort town in Henderson, Nevada is built on and around a man-made lake, and boasts a good balance of available activities and opportunities for relaxation. Multiple hotels and casinos mean that you can get your gaming fix in without having to go to Las Vegas, and the continuing development efforts in the community mean that jobs are usually easy to come by, if you don't mind working in a hospitality-centric environment. Oh, and be sure to keep your camera handy, because Chris Tucker and Celine Dion are sometimes-residents.

CHINATOWN:
Las Vegas' Chinatown is a bustling, ever-growing hub of trade and commerce, with indie places, boutiques, and booksellers rubbing metaphorical elbows with high-power commercial enterprises. Apartments exist in the area, but Chinatown is as much a "go-to" destination for work and play as it is a place to live.

SUMMERLIN:
Summerlin is an enclave of self-sufficiency in a city already known for its independent eccentrics. Named for the grandmother of legendary recluse Howard Hughes, this neighborhood is a self-contained oasis full of parks, with ample access to education, medical facilities, cultural outlets, and more.

A NOTE ON SCHOOLS: If you have children, most of Las Vegas and the surrounding area is served by the Clark County School District. There are several public and private options to fit the educational needs of you and your child, ranging from the K-12 to post-secondary level.

As you can see, there are a plethora of reasons to make Las Vegas your new home... and that's without a single mention of the many $2 steak dinners on the strip. Happy renting!
